Hexing Concentrator Setup

You should program the HXET-200 with software from Hexing, to connect to your pnpscada server, on port 2233.

The program to use is HexingTools(squiggle).exe, a program you can download here. You connect to the concentrator with a serial cable from your Windows PC's RS232 port.

You would need the special Hexing Concentrator cable (RS232 cable), for which you can browse the cable diagram on this site, or you can order the cable from SDG. Please note that you should use the top circular port, and not the one at the modem below

The most important setting is on the second tab from the left, and is basically your server ip and port, in the format 196.22.139.148:2233, where 196.22.139.148 is the IP of your server. To get the IP of your pnpscada server, ping its domain, e.g. 'ping adam.pnpscada.com' to get adam's static public IP.

Choose your APN (internet) and choose on the far right GPRS instead of ethernet, if you are so inclined. We prefer to leave all other parameters on the default settings.

On PNPSCADA, add the Hexing HXET-200 concentrator entity. When you add your Hexing meters that is connected on the same PLC network as that concentrator, specify the concentrator entity as the communication channel.

The newer?HXEJ200?Hexing Concentrator can be configured as an IDIS Concentrator, similar to the Wasion BPLC Concentrator. Whether the Hexing concentrator & meter uses FSK or G3-PLC, it talks the same protocol to the server, so independent from the hardware PLC protocol used, you'd still add it as the same entity on PNPSCADA.

You can pretend to add an HXF300 Hexing meter on this concentrator with the same serial number as the concentrator, which would result in reading the Hexing Concentrator as a Meter. Please note, that it doesn't support CT and VT ratios being programmed into the 'meter', so the scaling should be done as though it is a secondary meter.
