You need a program from KoCoS called Device Manager

Also, You need to setup RS485 Socket Service if you are using the RS485 on the Etherpad
and RS232 Socket Service if you are using the RS232

Host is the IP of the server it connects to

TCP Port is the port that PNPSCADA allocated to your Etherpad when you loaded it as an Generic Active Etherpad

You also need to setup the Etherpad's IP, Gateway and Mask that you get from the IT department at the site
under Device Manager -> Ethernet Options

KoCoS also has a program for setting the Etherpad in Server only mode,
perfect for if your PNPSCADA Server and Meters are on the same premises.

If DeviceExplorer v2 scan does not work, switch off your windows firewall and antivirus firewall.

1) Static IP address is the IP of the Etherpad Device itself inside of your network.
It will usually start with?192.168.?or?10.0.0.
Your IT guy can allocate an IP on your network.
Alternatively, set (3) to DHCP
2) You can get the mask and gateway from a computer on the network by going to Command Prompt and typing ipconfig
Alternatively, set (3) to DHCP

3) Static mode is when you configure the device on the network (often preferred in industrial environments).
Set this to DHCP to be configured automatically on the network.
4) TCP Mode: set this to Client (Client means Active Etherpad, Server means Passive Etherpad)
5) Host: set this to the server's IP where you want it to connect to. For central server (adam):?196.22.139.148
6) TCP Port: set this to the port number that was allocated to the Active Etherpad when you loaded it onto PNPSCADA

for RS485 devices, 4,5 and 6 should move to the RS485 block below

You can also setup an Etherpad using the serial port and PuTTY
The command is:

RS232 --host=adam.pnpscada.com --tcp-port=23182 --mode=1

KoCoS ME28 (WiFi Etherpad)
Click scan to get a list of all modems on the local WiFi network.
Then select the Etherpad and click Edit.

Set to DHCP mode, if site's IT did not specifically allocate a fixed IP for your etherpad.

Go to RS485 section and make sure to Enable it.
Set TCP Mode to Server
Host must be your PNPSCADA server's IP. (196.22.139.148 for the central server Adam)
TCP Port is the port number that was allocated to your Etherpad when you added it to PNPSCADA.
Should be in the 23000 range.

PLEASE NOTE!:
There is no data bits setting. When you set parity to Even, it assumes 7 data bits.
That means, none of these KoCoS devices would work with the Veryco meter on RS485 that needs 8E1.
