Answer:
To get your own server up and running again, we need the following:
1. Please switch it on and leave it on and connected to the LAN. It is currently set to connect out over the ADSL line to the central server, and we register a dynamic DNS for it. You can already use that. But I see the last time it connected to us is on 30 August, so it has probably been off since I last saw it! If it connects to us, I can already update it with the latest version. Otherwise not.
2. We need to get you some static IPs on that ADSL line of yours. It takes 1 day. The way to do that is to phone Lenora Young at MWEB Business, and get to fill in the forms for the MWeb Business ADSL package, starts off at just over R300 p/m (that is the ISP charge; if you transfer the ADSL line rental also to MWeb from Telkom, it is just over R500). Her number is 0726992560. You must already have a Telkom ADSL line. You get 5 static IPs for your ADSL line if you do this. Please tell her that Marinus at SDG has referred you to them, for support purposes, since we're an MWeb Partner. The guys at MWeb is very helpful, and they configure and manage the special CISCO ADSL router from their side. They send someone to install it, and then they manage it from their side, and if you want them to do port forwarding to an internal IP (like SEM); they set it up. We use this ourselves, and we've got City of Cape Town onto this, and we've got Enercon from Witbank onto this. It is really a good deal.
