This screen only works with CSV files.
To convert an Excel file to CSV, open the document in Excel, then Save As and under Save as type, choose CSV (Comma delimited *.csv)

You can auto-import files that are uploaded to your server via FTP.

The name of the folder where you upload it is important:
The first folder name is compulsory and should be the name of the CSV format (Column Configuration) as defined in this screen (Import Meter Readings).
The file name should be the meter serial number, but can be overridden by the defined CSV format.
If there is a second nested folder (from left to right), it is taken as the Gateway/Concentrator name.
If there is a third nested folder (from left to right), it is taken as the meter serial number in preference to the filename, unless overridden by the defined CSV format.
If you know the meter/s you want to read in, you should add it as a virtual meter, belonging to the same owner.

As an example, if you want to auto-import a CSV that was exported from Landis&Gys's MAP110, you can:
-change the file's name to be the meter's serial number + .CSV at the end (e.g. 12345678.CSV)
-upload the file in this screen and let it auto detect the columns (or set it manually)
-save the Column Configuration as LGZ (by clicking on Save and then entering LGZ)
-upload the file via FTP to the folder LGZ, e.g. (LGZ/12345678.CSV)

The file will then be uploaded using the specified column configuration

You will need to add an FTP Server Entity to your Organization to enable FTP access.
You also need to restart your server, or wait for the next day before FTP details become available.
