This guide explains how to configure a Conlog meter for APN mode to enable TCP communication via a GPRS SIM card.
Insert a valid APN-enabled SIM card into the meter?s SIM slot
Please Ensure the SIM card is active and has data enabled.
Open iDMConfig v2.1.0 and connect to the meter.
Click on Objects List.
If you have previously read the meter, select Read from Disk.
If not, select Read from Meter (this may take some time as the software collects the meter data).
Navigate to Class 28 (Auto Answer).
Perform a Read on the Mode attribute.
Confirm that it reads: Enum (Mode) = 0.
Navigate to Class 29 (Auto Connect).
Perform a Read on the Mode attribute.
If it reads: Enum (Mode) = 0
You must change it to: 101
Write the new value.
4. Write the new value.
5. Perform another Read to confirm it now shows: Enum (Mode) = 101
Navigate to Class 49 (GPRS Modem Setup).
Read the APN value.
Ensure the APN matches your SIM card provider?s APN (in HEX format).
If using an Onomondo SIM card:
APN (text): onomondo
APN (HEX): 6F6E6F6D6F6E646F
Once all configurations are complete:
Ensure Class 29 Mode = 101
Ensure APN is correctly set
Confirm SIM card has network connectivity
You should now be able to connect to the meter via TCP communication.
If the meter does not connect, verify:
SIM card activation and data availability
Correct APN in HEX format
Network signal strength
Firewall or server settings on the receiving side
