When using gmail to send email, an App Password must be set up in gmail and used from PNPSCADA.

2) You will be asked to log in to google. Use the username and password that you want PNPSCADA to send the emails from.
3) You should now get a screen like this:


4) If you dont get the section denoted by (1), then that means you first have to enable 2-Step verification. If you do get it you can skip to step 9.
5) To activate 2-Step verification, click on the back button denoted by (2) in the picture to take you to Security.
6) If you scroll a bit down, you should get a section like this, where you can see if 2-Step verification has been activated:

7) If not, then follow the steps to activate 2-Step verification. This entails gmail sending you a link, either to another email address or to your smart phone to verify that you are the owner of this email address.
8) You can go to https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords again after activating 2-Step verification.
9) Now click on the 'Select app' dropdown and choose 'Other'.
10) You will be given a space to fill in a name. Type 'pnpscada' here.
11) Then click Generate. It will now give you a 16 letter password which you can copy.
12) Back in pnpscada, use this gmail email as the username, and the generated password (no spaces) as the password along with the following settings:
