The following are excerpts from emails with regards to reading Elster Kent Water Meters using PnP Scada :
Enquiry :
"Hello,

I trust you are all well.

Is it possible to read Elster Kent water meters with PnPScada? Specifically the V110 model.

SDG wiki site details use of the Wavenis."
Solution :
"Yes, we read many Elster Kent V110s.
The Elster Kent V110 has a Pulse Output. All devices with Pulse Outputs can be read, but for that you need a device with pulse counting functionality on site, that can then be communicated with remotely from PNPSCADA. The meter is connected to this device with a probe, with two wires coming out. Basically the probe has a spring that closes when the magnetized part of the mechanical meter's wheel passes close by, which causes it to close and form an electrical contact (or pulse). As the magnetized part moves away, the spring releases and breaks contact.
This Pulse can be counted by many different devices, among others the Elster Wavenis AMR product, also the Sensus Scout AMR product, also various RTUs, like the Truteq Smartoo and Smartone modems."
Response :
"Thank you! Perfect"
