Compare two meter account consumption totals for water-balancing

For 'water-balancing' purposes, we need to be able to quickly and easily compare the consumption data for two meter accounts e.g. a 'Bulk-Meter' supplying a specific area, and a 'Combined-Account' of all the sub-maters in the zone.
Currently we're doing a weekly billing run on the two accounts and exporting the data in .csv format - but then we still have to copy-and-paste the totals from the 'Combined-Meter-Account' into Excel, run a macro to strip out the 'kl', plus various other interventions before we can sum the totals and get to the combined consumption amount. Only then can we compare the two totals, and check the percentage difference between the usage.
Can you suggest an easier way to do this comparison? It would be very useful to be able to specify two (or more) accounts and do a comparison on their consumption totals for a particular period.

This is one of the easiest things in Plug and Play Scada.
Summation is automatically included in every meter account.
To do Water Balancing or Energy Balancing, add multiple meters to your Meter Account. Then leave the portion of the incomer on 1, and change the others to minus one (-1).
The profile graph of this Meter Account constitutes your Water / Energy Balancing report. To see financial impact, run a bill on the meter account for the relevant period.
To receive notifications when a threshold has been exceeded, add a Summation Meter (specifying the Balancing Meter account as its dependency); and configure the consumption rate limit on the Advanced Meter Settings screen. This will then cause a meter event to be logged by pnpscada against this meter when the profile is inserted, which can be configured to generate notifications.
