The licensing and login-redirect sub-systems needs the server to be able to connect to www.pnpscada.com
(196.22.139.148) on port 12345. When first installed, the server needs to be able to access the Internet via
a TCP/IP connection to this address to start functioning.
If an already installed and functioning server cannot connect to this address, it will continue functioning for
10 days ? even after restarts ? but after which time it will stop functioning.
2/3If you are using a MOXA serial port extender for doing CSD (a GSM data call from modem to modem); you
need to be able to connect to the appropriate IP and ports, as specified in the MOXA documentation.
Depending on the connections to meters that you need to configure, especially Passive Etherpads and
Generic APN Modems, there might be a large number of other IP-s and ports that needs to be opened. You
might find it helpful to allow access to a specific port over all IP addresses, and then standardize your
equipment on that port.
You may additionally have to open the IP of the 3G router, if you are using an APN through a 3G router.
If you want to enable Google PowerMeter for some of your customers, you'll also need to open the
outgoing firewall to www.google.com (look out! The IP for google changes depending on where you are!)
on port 80 and 443.
Since the Plug and Play ScadaTM Server is a dedicated server that runs Linux and its own firewall, it is
considered very secure. You should be able to open access to all IP-s and ports with no adverse effect.
